FISCHER not only manufactures innovative blast media but also advises and supports its prominent customers regarding all aspects of the non-aggressive use of plastic blast media.

FISCHER carries out blasting tests according to customer specifications. These tests are carried out at FISCHER GmbH’s demonstration center. Potential customers can also rent pressure blasting systems for tests on their own premises or buy them at a reasonable price.

FISCHER responds promptly and flexibly to almost all requests and requirements, bringing its innovative ability to bear to provide the perfect solution. This applies to the development and use of our blast media as well as to our customer service – whenever a fast, straightforward solution is needed.

2018

  • Construction of a new laboratory for constant quality monitoring of Fischer JETplast®
  • Construction of a new demonstration center including a pressure blasting system for tests and demonstrations with Fischer JETplast®

2017

  • 3rd and 4th certification of FISCHER JETplast® Type II (urea), Type III (melamine) and Type V (acrylic) by the U.S. Air Force to MIL-P-85891.
  • 1st certification of the manufacture of plastic blast media issued by TÜV Rheinland to DIN EN ISO 9001/2015.
  • Commissioning of a third grinding unit and doubling of the size of the electronics workshop.

2016

  • Construction of a second screening unit for all blast media quality grades that have to meet MIL Spec. P-85891.
  • New brochure is launched.

2015

  • New website goes online with modern, new design.

2014

  • 2nd and 3rd certification of FISCHER JETplast® Type II (urea), Type III (melamine) and Type V (acrylic) by the U.S. Air Force to MIL-P-85891.
  • Peter Alt is hired to take charge of international sales of blast media.

2012

  • PA6 (polyamide) and PC (polycarbonate) added to range of plastic blast media.
  • Construction of an entirely new production line for Type V (acrylic) plastic blast media.

2011

  • Andreas Fischer becomes 2nd managing director of Fischer GmbH
  • Modernization and automation of a large part of the company’s production facilities.

2010/2011

  • Production and 1st certification of FISCHER JETplast® Type II (urea), Type III (melamine) and Type V (acrylic) by the U.S. Air Force to MIL-P-85891.

2009

  • Construction of an entirely new production line to meet rising demand for Type II plastic blast media.
  • Production and 1st certification of FISCHER JETplast® Type V (acrylic) by the U.S. Air Force to MIL-P-85891.
  • Existing TÜV and MIL approvals (DIN EN ISO 9001/2008 and MIL-P-85891) updated/renewed.

2006

  • 1st certification of FISCHER JETplast® Type II (urea) by the U.S. Air Force to MIL-P-85891.
  • Official listing by U.S. Air Force as manufacturer and supplier of plastic blast media
  • Existing TÜV and MIL approvals (DIN EN ISO 9001/2008 and MIL-P-85891) updated/renewed.

2004

  • Modernization of the two existing production lines.
  • Introduction of new anti-static pretreated quality grade (BQ).

2003/2004

  • Construction of an additional large covered storage space for logistics for plastic raw materials and blast media (PBM).

2003

  • Introduction of a quality management system including laboratory facility for monitoring and controlling blast media production.
  • 1st certification of the manufacture of plastic blast media issued by TÜV Rheinland to DIN EN ISO 9001/2000.

2002/2003

  • Construction and further modernization of existing production line.

  • Construction of an 800 m2 production and storage building especially for FISCHER JETplast®.

  • Andreas Fischer is hired to take charge of sales of blast media.

1989

  • Purchase of 6,200 m2 industrial site in Dillenburg-Niederscheld and extension of production and storage space by 1,000 m2

1988

  • FISCHER JETplast® registered as trademark by German Patent Office.

1980s

  • Development and launch of a new type of plastic blast medium.
  • Delivery of approx. 100 metric tons of plastic blast media to the USA for stripping paint from aircraft bodies.
  • Purchase of used blasting units and various plastic processing machines and tablet presses. The equipment was technically and cosmetically overhauled in the company’s own workshop before being sold on.

  • Company founded in Dillenburg by Dipl. Ing. Volker Fischer (proprietor and managing director).
